Alec attended the #EnoughIsEnough rally organised by the Board of Deputies of British Jews and the Jewish Leadership Council in Parliament Square on Monday 26th March.
Alongside Cllr Ryan Stephenson (Harewood Ward), Alec attended the rally in order to show solidarity with colleagues and constituents within the Jewish community amid growing anti-Semitism in politics and wider society. At the rally, one Labour MP condemned the failure of Labour Leader Jeremy Corbyn for not dealing with what he described as “the cesspit of anti-Semitism within the Labour Party”.
On Tuesday 17th April, Alec spoke in a parliamentary debate on anti-Semitism. He told the House of Commons: “Evil happens when good people stand by and do nothing. There is evil running through and infiltrating the Labour party, but it is full of good people and they are trying to do something about it”.
