Alec visited Moores Furniture Group this week as part of a jobs tour to promote his six-point plan for Elmet & Rothwell. At the General Election in May 2015, Alec made 'good local jobs' a feature of his six-point plan, pledging to work closely with international and local employers to promote investment in jobs and apprenticeships. Moores Furniture Group is a well-known local name in kitchen, bathroom and bedroom furniture, and is now the biggest manufacturing firm in West Yorkshire. The company is moving from strength to strength under the leadership of Steve Parkin and his team, remaining the largest single employer in Elmet & Rothwell. Alec commented: "I'll be working closely with the company over the coming years to promote further growth and investment in this key employment area. I was impressed by the company's commitment to employing a local workforce and its ethos of investing in good quality British manufacturing".
