In a recent debate in the House of Commons, Alec enquired as to what steps the Government is taking to encourage emergency services to pool office resources to protect frontline services.
The Government is currently consulting on ways to encourage greater co-operation between the police and fire services across West Yorkshire.
Speaking after the debate, Alec said “I believe it would make a lot of sense for police stations and fire stations in the same town to share a joint site. This would work well in the three towns within my constituency. I look forward to working with the police and fire brigade to find back-office savings to make sure the emergency services on which we all rely are always protected and working at full efficiency”
