Before his election in 2010, Alec said his priority as Elmet & Rothwell’s MP would be “jobs, jobs, jobs”.
Four years on and employment is at a record high. The unemployed claimant count in Elmet & Rothwell fell to just 1.5% in June – down 803 from April 2010.
That’s 803 jobs delivered and 803 more people going home with a pay packet.
In Parliament, Alec has been working to secure Elmet & Rothwell’s future and promote further growth in the Yorkshire economy. Britain now has the fastest growing economy in Europe with 2 million more private sector jobs created since 2010.
