As part of his ‘Elmet & Rothwell Jobs Tour’ Alec recently visited the offices of NCC Group, located at Thorpe Park Business Centre, to find out more about threats to our online security posed by cyber criminals.
NCC provides cyber security and risk mitigation services to critical national infrastructure providers in the defence and utility sectors, as well as supporting Government departments. They also provided the cyber expertise for the recent Channel 4 programme Hunted, in which a group of volunteer “fugitives” go on the run to explore themes of online privacy and security.
The Group, which employs nearly 100 people at its Leeds office in Elmet & Rothwell, is currently advising the Government on the Northern Powerhouse agenda, with a particular focus on tackling the challenge of talent flight and brain drain from the North to the South of England.
Alec will continue to work with NCC Group to highlight the importance of cyber security and the precautions that individuals and companies should take to mitigate risk of cyber crime.
