Earlier this month, the Department for Health and Social Care (DHSC) released general practice clinical staff figures, which found that there are now 23,000 more patient care staff working in practices across the country than in 2019.
There are 49 more doctors, nurses, pharmacists, phlebotomists, physiotherapists and podiatrists working across Elmet and Rothwell.
Commenting, Alec said "I am pleased that there are now 49 more practitioners working in clinics across our area, which will improve the early identification of serious illnesses and I am sure that this will be warmly welcomed by my constituents with chronic health conditions".
