Alec increased his majority over the Labour Party at the recent General Election.
Winning a third term as local MP for Elmet & Rothwell, Alec saw his share of the vote rise to 54%.
Commenting on his re-election Alec said: “Representing my home constituency in Parliament remains a huge honour and I am grateful to all those fellow residents who put their trust in me once again. Being a local MP is about representing everybody, not only those who voted for me, so I will spend the next five years delivering my positive five-point plan to secure a brighter future for our area”.
