In a strongly-worded letter to the Leader of Leeds City Council, Alec has questioned the Council's lack of ambition in its proposed Levelling Up Fund bid for Elmet & Rothwell, asking why the Council had drafted bids for a new leisure in Gipton, town centre regeneration in Armley and a new Park & Ride in Alwoodley, yet for Elmet & Rothwell merely proposed to install a handful of cycle paths, as well as resurfacing a few footpaths, planting some bulbs, treating Himalayan balsam, and installing picnic tables in existing parks and green spaces already managed by Leeds City Council.
Alec said: "At first I thought this was a joke. but then I realised this was the extent of ambition the Leader of Council has for Elmet & Rothwell".
